The Village of Tijeras is a small municipality located approximately seven miles east of Albuquerque. Our community is situated at the crossroads of the East Mountains and steeped in the history and culture of this part of New Mexico. Since incorporation in 1973, the elected officials and staff of the Village of Tijeras have worked diligently to serve our residents and act as a resource for the greater East Mountains area. The Village provides a variety of services to our residents, including water and wastewater service, road maintenance, planning and zoning, a motor vehicle department, and our Tijeras Senior Center.
