Fisch Productions

www.fischproductions.com

Our collaboration began with a Def Leppard music video in a high school video production class. Then life happened… Al Fischer went off to become a veterinarian, but was sidetracked by a class documentary project on gang life. He was drawn to the course by the idea of playing with cool toys in the studio, but the creative and technical challenges of shooting video in the field grabbed him instead. He started Fisch Productions in 1997 to give voice to the people he met along the way, turning their lives, histories, and passions into multi-media stories. Julie Peggar headed to graduate school and became a sociologist and visual ethnographer, blending art and science to document culture from the perspective of the people living it. Although her first project chasing parole agents around Los Angeles was a cross between Cops and The Blair Witch Project, she fell in love with the camera and vowed to improve her technique. Consumer and healthcare ethnography gave her years of practice crafting stories about everyday life from top (the attic) to bottom (bathroom culture). In 2016, they joined forces to combine Al’s creativity and technical skills with Julie’s research and interviewing expertise. The new Fisch Productions is the best of both worlds, producing stunning visual stories that make your audience feel like they’re there - from anywhere!
