Lowland Rescue is the protected banner under which the members of the Association of Lowland Search & Rescue (ALSAR) practice. ALSAR is a member of the UK SAR Framework, under the Department of Transport, and mandated to provide a voluntary service to the emergency services. 35 Lowland Rescue teams provide an inland, non-mountainous SAR response and work alongside colleagues from Mountain Rescue and the RNLI across the UK.
