Eclipse is one of the UK’s most innovative, Black-led touring theatre and production companies, inspiring new narratives about the Black and Global Majority experience. We commission, develop, produce and present new work by Black and Global Majority creatives in partnership with venues and collaborators. We believe in the power of culture to connect people and to change lives. We are a Leeds based organisation with a national profile; we tour our work across the country. We are proud to have proved that there is an audience for Black theatre outside of London. As a National Portfolio Organisation, Eclipse receives regular funding from Arts Council England. As one of the few, and vitally important, non-white led National Portfolio Organisations, we are active in our commitment to changing culture, race, diversity, and inclusion in the cultural sector. Eclipse was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Arts Council England in our most recent Creative Case for Diversity assessment. We are now working to rebuild and re-evaluate our touring profile and income and strengthen our presence and our relationships with audiences and communities at a local, regional, and national level, as well as sowing the seeds for future work on an international platform.
