Vision- The vision of Leadership Montgomery is to advance servant leaders who will contribute to the community through unified influence and continuous service. Origin - Leadership Montgomery was initiated in 1983 following what has become known as The Todd Road Incident. This incident racially divided the city and tore at the fabric of the community. As a result, the Founders of Leadership Montgomery sought to bring together a diverse group of community leaders to embrace change, leverage diversity and address critical community issues. Programs and Leadership Classes Legacy Class • This ten-month intensive, leadership class is comprised of a diverse contingency of seasoned leaders who study the most critical issues facing our community using an experiential, theme-based approach. Torchbearers’ Young Professionals Leadership Class •This ten-month leadership class is designed for young professionals ages 22-40 to help equip them with the skills and connections needed to become the city’s next generation of community leaders.
