Pioneers, A volunteer network
www.pioneersvolunteer.orgPioneers is a non-profit charitable organization based in Denver, Colorado. Founded in 1911 as the Telephone Pioneers of America, Pioneers has grown to be the largest industry-related volunteer organization in the world. We’re a dedicated, diverse network of current and retired telecommunications employees across the US and Canada. Our Pioneers network has steadily grown through our grassroots efforts to spread our mission of service — country to country, city to city, neighbor to neighbor. Our Mission: Pioneers is a network of volunteers who effect immediate, tangible change in communities. Our projects are as diverse as the communities we serve. We focus our efforts on five initiatives to make a difference in the unique needs of our hometowns. Education Our educational programs emphasize literacy, personal development, technological skills and mentoring. Life Enrichment We care for senior citizens and people with disabilities by building wheelchair ramps and educating seniors on modern technology, to name a few. Health and Human Service In times of crisis, the Pioneers are there to help. From stocking food banks during natural disasters to providing gifts for children in need during the holidays, no need is too big or too small. Environment Caring for our environment is important to Pioneers. You will see us cleaning up parks and beaches, building trails and ramps and championing recycle projects. Military We support our military be providing care packages for those serving overseas and helping the families here at home stay connected.
