Bigstone Oilfield Services & Supplies Ltd. (BOSS) is an oilfield service company incorporated on May 30, 2007. BOSS is a wholly owned and operated by Bigstone Cree Nation (BCN), a progressive First Nation and proven leader in local economic development. BCN has a membership of almost nine thousand (9,000) people and has significant land holdings (reserves) and traditional territories in the Wabasca, Alberta area. Located within the Athabasca oil sands basin, Wabasca is quickly evolving to be the service hub for regional resource exploration and extraction. BCN leadership acknowledges the economic benefits from resource development in the Wabasca region and recognizes industry’s need for a competent, safe, and well-trained workforce. BOSS provides fully trained and qualified personnel within the following areas: Fabrication, Industrial and Commercial Maintenance and Construction, Forestry, and Earthworks. BOSS’s commitment to health, safety, and the environment is a priority in its everyday operations. BOSS’s safety program is recognized by the Alberta Government’s Partnership in injury reduction through its achievement of a Certification of Recognition (COR).
