Weipa Community Care Association Inc. aims to create a space where community members across generations can come together to meet, share, and learn in a way that enhances their social, mental, and physical health. Some of our major achievements and services include the Community Op Shop and Cafe, Book Exchange, Community Centre, Family Day Care and Afterschool/Vacation Care, Volunteer Programs, Counselling Healing Services, RADIO/AOD – Alcohol and Other Drug Intervention Programs, No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) and the Western Cape Crisis Shelter for those affected by domestic and family violence. Our objectives are to foster the development of community groups, provide information and referrals, develop and facilitate practical and emotional social networks while promoting community spirit in Weipa and surrounding areas. As a non for profit organisation we are also committed to developing collaborative and effective partnerships with Napranum and Mapoon community, NGO’s and other agencies, government, and businesses. We are all extremely passionate about offering the community important and valuable services, resources, events, and support.
