TRUE Center is a trauma-focused mental health clinic that will be serving families and the broader DC Metropolitan community. Too many children and families have inequitable access to trauma-focused care. At TRUE, we want to change that. Our mission is to increase access to trauma-focused, evidence-based care and prevention services for DC-area children and families. We will be offering the following clinical services: trauma treatment and prevention services for children and families, introductory consultations to answer families' questions about their children's reactions to trauma, and evaluations and treatment for immigration related trauma. We will also be providing training for mental health professionals and informational talks to community members on issues related to trauma, its effects, ways parents can support children in the aftermath of trauma, and strategies that can be used in the prevention of trauma and trauma symptoms.
