Court Care for the Pikes Peak Region exists to provide quality child care in a safe, family-friendly environment for children of individuals who have court-related business. Since 2003, Court Care for the Pikes Peak Region has provided free, drop-in, licensed child care to families that have court-related business in the Fourth Judicial District Court (serving El Paso and Teller Counties) and Colorado Springs Municipal Court. In partnership with Early Connections Learning Center, Court Care cares for children ages six weeks to 14 years old. Each year, Court Care provides a safe, fun, and supportive environment for an average of 4,000 children. Court Care is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization. Before Court Care was founded, thousands of children each year were brought into courtrooms and witnessed any number of sensitive or graphic proceedings. In this environment, they witness life’s harshest realities, sense the stress and fear around them, and often, understandably, pull parental and judicial attention away from the proceedings by causing disruptions to the overflowing system dockets. Court Care protects children, allows caregivers to complete their court-related business with dignity and without distractions, and helps keep our court system running more effectively.
