The Saudi Automobile & Touring Association Co.(SATA) is an affiliate of the Saudi Automotive Services Co. (SASCO), established with the purpose of providing Carnet Document (Carnet De Passage En Douane known as CPD) for vehicles departing from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the 1954 UN convention on the temporary importation of private road vehicles. Also issuing International Driving Permits (IDP) in accordance with the UN conventions of 1949 and 1968. SATA have been an active member of the Alliance Internationale de Tourisme (AIT) and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) since 1982. SATA is also an active member of the International Road and Transport Union (IRU) since 2012. SATA is officially mandated by the Saudi Customs Authority to act as the TIR Issuing and Guaranteeing Association in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Being a strategic partner to Saudi Customs in managing the TIR System. In SATA we believe that digitization is key to facilitate trade in GCC, through the digitizing of customs procedures, we aim at providing our customers with secure, paperless, and time-saving border crossing solutions. SATA Motor Sport division is keen to play an active role in organizing motor sport activities related to cars and motorcycles in coordination with the concerned authorities and obtaining necessary license and approval to allow organization of motor sport events in Saudi Arabia on a proper basis within the rules and regulations of the FIA.
