National Bone Marrow Transplant Link
www.nbmtlink.orgEstablished in 1992, the National Bone Marrow Transplant Link helps patients, caregivers, and families cope with the social and emotional challenges of bone marrow/stem cell transplant from diagnosis through survivorship by providing vital information and personalized support services. The nbmtLINK has five original publications tailored to the needs of individuals affected by BMT: Graft Versus Host Disease: Living with the After Effects of Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant; Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant Frequently Asked Questions; Caregivers’ Guide for Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant: Practical Perspectives; Resource Guide for Stem Cell Transplant; and Survivorship Guide for Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant: Coping with Late Effects. Additionally, the nbmtLINK created an EMMY award-winning video, “The New Normal,” which chronicles the transplant journeys of six BMT survivors and is now available on a DVD and on YouTube. Individuals can be matched with a trained peer support volunteer who can lend a sympathetic ear. On the organization’s website, visitors can read all of our booklets, or watch webcasts on coping with chronic Graft vs. Host Disease (cGvHD). The nbmtLINK also hosts a cGvHD Telephone Education and Support Group in conjunction with staff from the National Institutes of Health. We also have a survivorship recognition program, “Celebrating Second Birthdays,” which honors the survivor on his or her transplant anniversary. For more information or to find out how you can help, please call 1-800-546-5268 or visit www.nbmtlink.org.
