North Leigh FC
www.northleighfc.co.ukFounded back in 1908, we have been offering grassroots football in the heart of the Cotswolds for over a hundred years. Located in the little village of North Leigh, our nickname the 'Millers' derived from the local tower mill built in 1833 by Joseph Shepherd. We have spent most of our history competing in the local Witney & District league dominating the 1950's and 1970's. In 1990 we made the huge jump into the Hellenic county leagues but in 2008 the sheer unthinkable happened. Winning the Hellenic Premier Division for the 3rd time, we accepted promotion in Non-League football in the Southern League competing against the likes of Truto City, Hereford, Taunton Town etc. With a village population of under two thousand, the promotion began a true underdog story in which he have held our own for 11 straight years despite teams from large towns and even small cities. Now in 2019 we have a total of 12 teams associated with the club. Alongside our highly supported men's Southern League team is a senior women's team, an amateur men's team, an over 50 Vets side and three youth teams at U7 Boys, U12 Girls and U12 Boys. Furthermore, our club is used by four JPL youth sides from U11 to U14 and an over 35 Vets team. 2020 will also see the beginning of our new football academy offering a 2-year BTEC Level-3 educational course for 16-19's, the first of it's kind in West Oxfordshire.
