EOTL’s hands-on, grade-differentiated curriculum uses real wheelchairs, prosthetics and other able-ing equipment to bring our message to life. This hands-on instruction is proven to lower the discomfort and avoidance of what’s unfamiliar and alter a child’s perception of what it means to live with a disability on a daily basis. With our program, children learn about disabilities both physical and hidden - cerebral palsy, physical limitations, deafness, blindness and many more conditions that amazing people experience every day. Our staff visits your school over one week with all necessary equipment, supplies and educators. All curriculum aligns with Social and Emotional Learning and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practices. www.educatingoutsidethelines.org SAMPLE PROGRAMMING: Our Certified Staff visit your school over one week with all necessary equipment, supplies and educators. Lessons are age appropriate, hands-on and meet ISBE social and emotional standards. NO preparation and minimal time commitment for your Teaching Staff. ALL STUDENTS: 1 School assembly KINDY: 1 30 minute lesson GRADES 1–5: 1 hour lesson per-grade (split into 2 30 minute sessions) Hands-on curriculum will educate students on the following: CONDITIONS: Physical and hidden, mobility and agility, sensory (blind/deafness) DAILY LIFE: Day-to-day experiences, Living your best life, What you can do! TOOLS: Wheelchairs, prosthetics, able-ing equipment STEM, Art, Music, Physical Education & Library Classes also Available!
