Alyeska Venture Management develops local investment and entrepreneurial management expertise, and creates new venture-backed companies in Alaska. Our mission is to bring together people and capital, and accelerate the growth of new businesses and new business sectors, leading to a more diversified Alaska economy. Our primary work is management of the Alaska Accelerator Fund (AAF), Alaska's first professionally-managed venture capital fund for early stage companies. AAF invests exclusively in Alaskan companies. All investors in our fund are Alaskan, and broadly represent the business community in our state. We also manage educational events dedicated to early-stage investing and entrepreneurship, and provide consultancy to entrepreneurs and to corporations interested in corporate venturing. Our firm is motivated by the vision of an Alaskan economy of tomorrow that is the prized jewel of the American union. The economic advantages of our state are mostly unrecognized outside Alaska. We are between global trade and communication routes. Our territory is enormous and our natural resources are unparalleled. We are untouched by the scars of the industrial revolution.
