The People’s Law Firm was founded in 2014 after the suppression of peaceful protests by militarized police in Ferguson, Missouri. It was created with a simple mission: to make the biggest dent possible in a justice system that overwhelmingly protects the powerful, views the constitution as an inconvenience, and erects every possible obstacle to the peaceful exercise of the rights of the people. The PLF does this through direct legal action: civil rights litigation representing victims of police brutality, false imprisonment, and malicious prosecution. It obtains most of its funding for this work through representation of injury victims and the aggressive pursuit of justice against insurance companies – with a particular focus on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and products liability work. The Firm’s home office is in Phoenix’s Roosevelt Historic District, with regional offices in the Denver/Boulder area and San Diego. The Firm plans for future expansion into western states.
