Established in May 2009 by Kemal Avci together with Haluk Attila Aksak and Murat Cacan, Ares Ship Management (Ares Gemi Isletmeciligi A.S.) is the successor of Ursa Maritime that has been involved in chemical tanker industry since 2001. Main activities of the company included shipbuilding, ship management and operation. Since its establishment the ancestor of Ares has accomplished many projects together with its subsidiaries, where a total of 16 chemical tankers between 5500-14000 DWT were built in Turkey, at Celiktekne Shipyard. Ares presently operates four IMO II Tankers, namely 2003 built 5500 dwt MT Zeugman, 2009 built 5500 dwt MT Hitra, 2009 built 5500 dwt MT R.C Behar, and 2011 built 14000 dwt MT Imera. Run entirely in-house, Ares is providing a full ship management service to its fleet covering HSEQ, crewing, technical and commercial aspects.
