Talart
www.talart.fiAbout us We founded Talart Ltd in 1996 in Kangasala, Finland. Today our best known products are the JT-Mirage, JT-Ultimate and Gold Mirage. They represent what Talart is all about: whether custom-built for you or part of an off-the-shelf production series, we design and build the best wheelchairs available today. How did we find ourselves in the business of building wheelchairs? It was really a simple case of necessity being the mother of invention, as owner and co-founder Jukka Tala spent countless hours searching in vain for a lighter, more custom-fitted wheelchair made for his needs. Frustration turned to innovation: he rolled up his sleeves, and in the Finnish tradition, decided to do it himself. This proved to be the beginning of a radical shift in the world of wheelchair production: to fit the wheelchair to the user, rather than the user to the wheelchair. Taking that idea a step further we decided to look at a wheelchair not just as a group of components but as a very real part of independent living. We came to recognize that every one of our design decisions has a real world impact on our customers’ everyday lives. Whether designing wheelchairs that fit more easily into a car or meticulously fine-tuning ergonomically correct sitting positions, we are driven by this fact.
