DOUBLE HARVEST operates in third world countries to establish and develop agricultural projects, by providing capital resources and implementing best practices to increase food production, and to build the local economy. We partner with indigenous men and women to start sustainable, productive agricultural enterprises using modern, environmentally sound technologies. We use practical conservation regimens and bring together the know-how, capital requirements and hands-on experience to increase productivity. As we work to develop our agricultural projects, we often find our co-workers and neighbors have critical physical and spiritual needs that are not being met. Responding to these needs we have built churches, clinics, houses and schools. We have piped drinking water to the local villages and taught the basics of sanitation. We have sent out evangelists, hosted daily morning devotions, and provided pastoral care for patients and workers. Being followers of Jesus Christ we are guided by His example and the principles outlined in the Bible, “…do not forget to do good and to share with others”. The truth of the gospel becomes real to people when the rule of “…will show you my faith by what I do” is put into action. The Proverbs have both instruction and promise for us in carrying out the mission of DOUBLE HARVEST, “He who tills his land will have plenty of food.” In Genesis, we read Adam was “in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.” We are appointed both gardener and guardian; we are to cultivate and nurture the earth not plunder and exploit it.
