www.grobbelaars.com

Grobbelaars Funeral Services had its inception in 2005 with the merger of two of Pretoria`s most prominent funeral homes namely Rentmeester Grobbelaars and Church Street Funerals. The merger combined the strength, expertise and best features of both previous companies. Both companies boast histories dating back to late 1800 and 1900. The Grobbelaars name is well known in the funeral industry. WH Rogers, before the name was changed to Church Street Funerals, was the first funeral home in Pretoria and opened its doors in 1898. On the 6th of September 2011, the logo and name Grobbelaars Funeral Services was officially registered as a trade mark. During September 2006, it became obvious that there was an opportunity to enter the market of funeral insurance with the same ethical and corporate principles already in place at the funeral division. On the 25th of August 2007, Grobbelaars & Church Street Brokers obtained its FSP licence to operate and sell funeral products. These products include individual, voluntary and compulsory schemes, underwritten by African Unity Life. In March 2013, the company moved to a new premises adjacent to Grobbelaars Funeral Services and in April 2013 the name was changed to Grobbelaars Financial Services.
