Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation
www.sbidc.orgOur Mission The Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation (SBIDC) is a forty-year-old nonprofit, membership organization providing vital services to industrial and manufacturing businesses in Sunset Park, Red Hook and Gowanus. The organization also helps local residents to secure and maintain quality jobs and careers. Our services fall into three primary categories: business services, workforce development, and policy and advocacy, all with the goal of encouraging economic development that creates and sustains good industrial jobs and benefits the entire Southwest Brooklyn community. Our Future At a time when Southwest Brooklyn’s industrial waterfront faces major threats but also important opportunities, SBIDC looks to take on a greater role in working with the community to fight for the area’s future as a center for good jobs and career opportunities for local residents. We look to build upon our existing services, increase our worker and small-business training offerings, and ultimately increase our advocacy on behalf of the local small businesses and the local workforce.
