Angels say, there are not enough good deals. Entrepreneurs say, there aren’t enough investors writing checks. The San Diego Angel Conference (SDAC) aims to improve both of these issues through a series of events that build up to a one-day conference. SDAC is open to any member of the community interested in learning more about starting a company and investing in a new business. The conference is the culmination of many months of due diligence, review, evaluation, and selection by the investors. The entrepreneurial candidates are narrowed down and on the day of the conference, the conference finalists have the opportunity to make their best pitch for why their company deserves the investment. Seasoned community-minded investors pair with novice first-time investors to create an LLC, and pool their funds to create an investment of up to $1,000,000 awarded at the SDAC. Entrepreneurs receive intense coaching and feedback to ensure deal flow improves as they prepare to compete at SDAC.
