West Kent Debt Advice (WKDA) is an independent local charity with its own board of trustees which exists to support the provision of debt and money advice in West Kent and beyond. First established in 2004, WKDA merged its advice activities with Crosslight in 2017 and today achieves its mission through its partnership with Crosslight. WKDA is responsible for most of the funding of the Kent branches, raising funds from local donors and grant making bodies. Crucially, WKDA’s charity board provides the Kent branches with local accountability and strategic advice, as well as assisting with the recruitment and training of local volunteers. WKDA employs a Branch Manager and local team who are in turn seconded to CrossLight. WKDA also appoints a representative to the main Crosslight charity board.
