Champions for the Responsible Utilization of Ocean Hydrothermal Vents OHR is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization registered in Lakeside Montana; we champion the responsible development of ocean hydrothermal vent utilization by better informing and enabling the community of scientists, innovators, businesses, governments, and public stakeholders who will make sustainable vent harvesting possible. After undersea vents were first discovered nearly fifty years ago, subsequent geological discoveries, marine exploration, and technological developments have all contributed to improved understanding and capabilities that will soon allow the world to benefit from the vast and largely untapped and renewable potential of ocean hydrothermal resources. Working with a core group of advisors that includes the original founder of ocean vents, top undersea vulcanology experts, targeted patent holders, and committed environmental and commercial stakeholders, our team recently launched a new and branded platform that brings together the leading interdisciplinary vent experts on the planet.
