The Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation is a non-profit organization, established in 1993. Our mission is to promote an understanding of the Earth and how its processes shape our lives through the interpretation of the half-billion year old fossils of the Burgess Shale within a geological setting. The BSGF is licensed by Parks Canada to conduct guided hikes to the UNESCO World Heritage Burgess Shale Walcott Quarry and Mt Stephen Fossil Beds.
