Fionita's Project aims to educate and promote life-saving skills in Pan-African communities and the UK. The organisation initially began in 2013 as a small project which primarily focused on improving the environmental standards in educational institutions, in destitute communities in Nigeria. However, it has now embarked into an organisation that will benefit communities internationally. This includes training, adequate healthcare, emergency services, and health awareness. In addition, the organisation aims for mandatory first aid sessions in African countries and to encourage individuals to pass their knowledge on. Founded by Ms Fiona Igwe, she had prior experience in first aid services with St John's Ambulance and was is an instructor with Heartstart (British Heart Foundation). Through FP, Ms Igwe organised first aid projects in Nigeria, Kenya, London and Norwich. She was recently credited as the main founder of university campaign 'Eradicate Hate', which supports BAME students in dismantling institutional racism at the University of East Anglia.
