www.djmophatt.comDJ Mo Phatt (and DJ Mo, or The Heat Miser as his fans, fellow DJ's and critics call him sometimes), is a prominent American Hip-Hop producer and DJ. Having been in the music industry since his middle school years at Cullen Middle School in Houston, DJ Mo Phatt then known as "P-Nut" by his neighborhood crew (Prince, Buster, Bull, Ron-E and Drew) made mixtapes (actual cassette tapes) titled "P-Nut's Picks". P-Nut's Picks was a collaboration of songs that may not be receiving radio play on the mainstream radio stations or just picks of his favorite artists/songs. DJ Mo Phatt's unique ability to mix together songs with cassette players and many times opening the cassette case to splice songs and sounds together made "P-Nut's Picks" extraordinary. Throughout his high school years, DJ Mo Phatt honed in on his music appreciation skills while at the (S.O.C.) School of Communications at Jack Yates High School in Houston, TX as well as Gateway High School in Aurora, CO. It was his time serving his country in the United States Army where DJing in front of crowds in Germany sparked DJ Mo Phatt's interest in becoming a professional DJ. Having rocked parties and clubs worldwide in Germany, Iraq and Kuwait to name a few, DJ Mo Phatt is no stranger to DJing different cultures and crowds. Earning radio recognition and founded his first radio show "Panther Nites" on KPVU-91.3 FM. After a year of success, using the name "Maurice P", DJ Mo Phatt was introduced "Lisa E", who was added to the show. They brought a spark to the airwaves, playing indie artists as well as local artists that would never get airplay otherwise. Panther Nites paved the way for many national artists to gain exposure. Over the years DJ Mo Phatt has DJ'd many events directly for NFL, NBA and WNBA. As well as concerts of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Miguel, Ice Cube and LL Cool J, just to name a few. In addition to DJing, he also has been the back-up game announcer for the Houston Comets.
