The Photography Master Retreat is a unique one-week, mentor-led, immersive workshop for photographers held in the south of France every year after the opening week of Les Rencontres d'Arles in July. The Photography Master Retreat 2020, our 6th edition, will be held from July 4-11, 2020 for a select group of participants (maximum fourteen) who will be chosen by the mentors from submitted applications. The retreat is designed for professional and aspiring professional photographers – fine art, conceptual, or documentary – who are passionate about their work and want to take it to the next level. Three internationally acclaimed mentors will guide, advise and inspire: Elisabeth Biondi, former Visuals Editor at The New Yorker, Writer and Curator; Lyle Rexer, Critic, Curator and Educator; and Artist-Educator Martine Fougeron. This memorable, career-enhancing experience is set in the remote hamlet of Esparon in the south of France. It is not a shooting trip but a career-enhancing opportunity for professional critique, artistic introspection and for bonding with peers.
