Fostering Indigenous reconciliation through innovative technologies. ChinookX is an Indigenous-owned company based on the unceded territories of the Lkwungen peoples in Victoria, BC. We facilitate clean energy and high tech investment in partnership with First Nations across BC and Canada. We are focused on developing “Indigenous Innovation Districts.” These districts are a consortium of modern, environmentally-conscious businesses. Together, they generate employment, training and revenue in partnership with a local First Nation that’s leasing land and power to the businesses. We have spent over three years carefully recruiting key industry players in the energy, technology, green manufacturing, development, construction, and financial sectors who have a strong track record of environmental and social responsibility. They are ready to work with our First Nations partners. Our team brings to the table decades of experience working with First Nations on economic development projects as well as many close connections in government. We have seen what works, what doesn’t, and what is possible as we all navigate the threat of climate change together. ChinookX was born from a desire for practical progress on reconciliation in Canada and a vision for a carbon-neutral economy. We believe Indigenous peoples have the jurisdictional authority and inherent cultural wisdom to lead the clean energy transition.
