Scotland’s first and only student-led think tank, the Buchanan Institute is based at the Academy of Government, the University of Edinburgh. The Institute aims to fundamentally change how students engage with the public sphere. Students can put forward their own alternatives and generate concrete policy proposals which strive to influence political or university-based action. We aim to inspire dialogue that may otherwise not be heard, through campus events, brainstorming sessions, and research initiatives such as matching project teams with academic mentors. Buchanan is non-partisan and open to everyone.
