Australian Sustainable Finance Institute
www.asfi.org.auA sustainable and resilient economy – one that prioritises human well-being, social equity and the protection of our environment – is the foundation for ensuring Australia’s prosperity. Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI) has been established to coordinate, facilitate and drive the implementation of the industry designed Australian Sustainable Finance Roadmap (https://www.asfi.org.au/roadmap). Led by high level representatives spanning the Australian finance industry and representing leading Australian financial institutions and financial services companies committed to aligning the Australian financial sector with a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive Australia. Established in 2021 to work across the public, private and not for profit sectors to drive implementation of the Roadmap. Published in 2020, the Roadmap was developed by 140 individuals across 90 finance sector organisations and sets out a pathway to a financial system that benefits all Australians by 2030. The Roadmap includes pathways, policy signals and frameworks to better enable the Australian finance sector to contribute to delivering on international commitments, such as the Paris Agreement on climate change, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, environmental protection and social inclusivity, while underpinning economic stability and prosperity for Australia. Our vision is for an Australian financial system: - That is sustainable, resilient and stable and can withstand systemic risks and other shocks and strains - Meets the present and long-term needs of all Australians, the environment and the economy - Where financial decisions are informed by and consider sustainability risks, impacts and opportunities - That enhances financial inclusion, wellbeing and informed choice - Where capital flows support Australia to meet sustainable development goals, including facilitating and orderly transition to a net-zero, resource efficient and social inclusive economy
