Over the years youth activities within the community has been on a steady decline, austerity measures have impacted them even more. With the support of the community in Barnet, we aim to change that. Our Mission - Creating Space to Grow - to ensure that children and young people have access to safe spaces within their community to grow and develop into resilient adults. Our shared vision is that all children and young people are able to access a wide range of high quality local opportunities for learning and fun, beyond family and formal education, building strong trusted relationships with adults and their peers; addressing health and well-being by being active and involved, leading to broadened networks and increased confidence, character and skills. Why? To give children and young people - space for peer support and challenge -space to grow and change - space to support and be supported (addressing health and well-being – including low level mental health issues) - challenge children and young people to become the best they can be - value and nurture youth leadership, creating tomorrows leaders to further strengthen our community - To promote social responsibility within projects to have a positive impact on the community as a whole. How? Creating a pathway for community support – volunteering and local fundraising initiatives to help build capacity within the voluntary and community sector to enable more activities and services - Working with partners in developing, training, connecting and quality assuring our membership network.
