The firm was founded over 70 years ago, originally under the name of Milford Crosland and Co. Neil Jordan joined, after his war service, and the firm became Crosland Jordan and Company. The firm remained a family business and Neil’s son, Robert Jordan, joined in 1982 after practising the family trade in one of London’s largest law firms. Jordans has always been a highly ambitious firm and has been home to many excellent lawyers, many of whom went on to join the judiciary: Robert Jordan was invited to join the judiciary in 1999 and just a few years later his successor, Fred Rutherford also became a member of the judiciary. Jordans has gone from strength to strength, it was the first legal practice in the Kirklees area to be awarded the Law Society’s prestigious Lexcel Quality Mark. This practice management standard is only awarded to solicitors who meet the highest management and customer care standards.
