Durante os anos 80 houve uma tentativa sincera de tentar rockar em português. Era esquisito mas também era perigoso, como o rock’n’roll devia ser sempre. Depois vieram os malditos anos 90 em que uma nova geração de músicos descobriu a arte do karaoke: se o rock veio lá de fora, por que não simplesmente mantê-lo em inglês? De qualquer maneira, ninguém quer saber das letras - baza imitar e pronto. Entra um milénio novo e a FlorCaveira. Agora havia uma editora a fazer discos e inimigos porque amava dizer coisas numa batida rock que as pessoas podiam compreender. E o perigou voltou. E o ultraje. E o hype. E a música ficou. Em 2020 a FlorCaveira celebra o seu 20º aniversário e ainda honra o seu credo: gente a sério, a tocar a sério, cantando palavras a sério. [ENG] When rock'n'roll arrived in Portugal in the sixities, it was not uncommon to accomodate itself into half-baked electrical versions of popular Fado songs. During the eighties there was this genuine attempt to rock within the portuguese language. It was weird but it was dangerous, like rock ’n ‘roll is always supposed to be. Then came those damned nineties when a new generation of musicians discovered the art of karaoke: if rock came from the outside why not just sing it in english? No one cares about the words anyway - go for the imitation. Enter the new millenium and FlorCaveira. Now you had one record label making records and enemies because they were friends with saying things in a rock beat that people could understand. And the danger was back. And the uproar. And the hype. And music stayed. In 2020 FlorCaveira celebrates its 20th anniversary and still honors its creed: real people, really playing, singing real words.
