OmniQuest Youth Empowerment Initiative
www.omniquestyouth.orgOmniQuest Youth Empowerment Initiative is a capacity building non-profit organization created to address the academic, social, and emotional well-being of African-American youth in the District of Columbia metropolitan area. We are working to create opportunities and equity to disrupt the pipeline to prison as well as inspire youth to think, dream, and do big things for themselves as well as their communities. Serving youth in 3rd to 12th grade, OmniQuest: (1) Empowers youth to make positive choices that will enhance their social and emotional well-being as well as strengthen their communities; (2) Broadens the mind by opening up a world of new possibilities through cultural and educational experiences, inclusive of domestic and international travel opportunities; (3) Disrupts the pipeline to prison by working to close the achievement gap with a particular emphasis on problem solving, critical thinking, writing, and oratorical skills; (4) Creates a safe space for youth to learn and reaffirm the richness and diversity of the African-American experience and how it impacts upon their lives; and (5) Provides opportunities for creative growth and development coupled with laying a foundation for entrepreneurial and financial literacy skills.
