Center for Industry 4.0 (C4I4) brings together a group of cross-college students at the University of Texas, Austin to discuss, learn about, and emphasize the revolution in supply chain management to the future in complete automation. The term Industry 4.0 encompasses the idea of a new industrial revolution. The interaction between advanced manufacturing techniques and the Internet of Things to create supply chains that are not only interconnected and innovative but analyze and use information to drive intelligent action back in the business world. Blockchain applications in supply chains are growing at a fast rate. We are seeing practical applications being released and new products launched by large corporate companies at an increasing rate. VR and AR will allow manufacturers to develop products from afar. 5G and IoT will push the idea that we will one day see seamless and automated freight transportation across the world.
