cbc.arizona.eduThe University of Arizona Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (CBC) offers Ph.D. programs in both Chemistry and Biochemistry. Graduate students affiliated with these programs are provided research assistantships on a highly competitive basis. CBC's research is further supported and enhanced by our world-class Research Support Services. Our analytical research facilities are extensive, expertly staffed and featuring capabilities in NMR, ESR, surface analysis, photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, mass spectrometry, proteomics, and nanoscale materials imaging and characterization. Our design shops are equipped with the personnel and equipment to meet the design, construction, and repair needs of the most advanced research programs. CBC is committed to preparing students for successful careers as professional scientists. In partnership with industry representatives from the CBC Advisory Board, the Careers in Chemical Sciences (CiCS) Program for CBC graduate students has been developed. CiCS expands students’ awareness of opportunities in industries and organizations who hire PhD-level scientists with concentrations in Chemistry and Biochemistry; prepare students for successful interactions with potential employers, and expand awareness of potential employers to the CiCS Program.
