NOMAN is an Island Race to End HPV challenges individuals to extreme endurance events in order to raise and awareness and funds to prevent the 5% of all cancers caused globally by HPV. NOMAN’s goal is simple: eliminate HPV cancers via universal HPV vaccination. We can prevent HPV cancers by vaccinating both girls and boys against this devastating virus. Awareness of HPV and the diseases it causes is very low. - Less than 50% of people are aware of the link between HPV and cancer. - Only 1 in 3 know that HPV can cause cancer in males. Yet over 80% of us will have an HPV infection at some point in our lives. In the vast majority of cases our bodies will clear the virus and we will suffer no ill effects. For those unfortunate, the virus can manifest into several nasty cancers. To raise awareness of the HPV cancer epidemic in men and women we run our own, and enter, a series of extreme endurance events including a biennial Barcelona – Ibiza ocean rowing race series, and riding up the world’s most infamous climbs as the official charity partner of the world-renowned Haute Route. Our ultimate goal is to go out of business as quickly as possible. The world has used immunisations to end the suffering caused by infectious diseases such as smallpox and polio.
