Mark+Fold is a London-based stationery studio, creating understated, modern stationery with an unwavering commitment to quality and provenance. As people who appreciate good stationery, we had grown frustrated with the declining quality of notebooks on offer, and a tendency towards ornate, feminine designs. We also wanted to know about where and how our notebooks were made, the materials used, and whether they were sustainably-sourced. In 2015, designer Amy Cooper-Wright set out to create something better: not just a better quality product, but a more considered and ethical approach to the making process. Our notebooks and diaries all open flat to 180 degrees; our pages are made of exceptionally good paper that is up to 30% thicker than other notebooks; our stationery is expertly made in small, numbered batches. Our making process is transparent, local and sustainable.
