International Development Policy Journal
journals.openedition.orgInternational Development Policy is a peer-reviewed journal that promotes cutting-edge research and policy debates on global development. At the interface between the academic and policy worlds, it publishes original contributions by researchers and reflective practitioners from developing, emerging and advanced economies. DevPol engages scholars and policymakers to analyse and debate development policies at the strategic, institutional and discursive levels, and to question their conceptualisation, relevance, implementation and impact. DevPol links up with international policy negotiations involving Geneva-based organisations in the areas of trade, human rights and humanitarian law, global health, environment, labour, migration and others. Activities: DevPol organises events, debates, and workshops to promote critical and constructive exchanges of ideas between policy makers, practitioners and academics on key development challenges across stakeholder communities (i.e. from developing, emerging as well as industrialised economies). Researchers are encouraged to consider institutional and operational constraints faced by policy makers and practitioners while the latter are offered an opportunity to reflect on policy discourse as well as operational strategies and practices against relevant academic debates. DevPol publishes: - Thematic issues on key development policy challenges; and - Stand-alone articles analysing topics related to international development and cooperation. Outreach: In 2019, the journal website received nearly 670,800 visits or in other words, more than 1,800 unique visitors per day, and HTML and PDF article views or downloads exceeded 849,000. Our readership is global (20% Europe, 15% Africa, 20% America, 10% Asia) and diverse. In addition to online and print publications, International Development Policy organises and participates in public and closed-door events where authors and experts discuss the articles and policy issues at stake.
