The Gary East Side Community Development Corporation (GESCDC) is a registered 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit charitable organization founded in 2017 to tackle workforce and housing needs in the city of Gary, Indiana. GESCDC has grown its outreach to address emerging social, economic, cultural, and educational needs of the diverse communities in the Northwest Indiana area, including problems of: • Poverty • Injustice • Lack of jobs • Homelessness • Homeownership • Struggling schools • Lack of business investment GESCDC has grown to supply everything from leasing and property management to legal support. Additionally, it provides reentry and workforce development training programs to offer new opportunities to individuals in the greater Northwest Indiana area.
