Riot Racers is a play-to-earn car racing game, where participants own parts of the game. Players can actively earn by racing cars, or they can passively earn by owning various assets in the game. All purchasable parts of the game are in the form of verifiably owned NFTs. The currency in Riot Racers is the RIOT token, a fungible ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain. Players use RIOT tokens to enter races, upgrade vehicles, earn in-game rewards, and more. Game Play: To enter races, players buy gas from a Gas Station and select a race specific to their Car's racing class. Players will then select what race strategies to employ for that race, based on track conditions and other game variables, including any upgrades their Car might have. The game then runs in the background, and players watch the results play out afterwards. Winners of the race receive a portion of the prize pool, which is made up from the gas fees for that race. First place earns 50% of the prize pool; second and third place split the other half of the prize pool. Winnings are paid out in RIOT Tokens. Upgrades to Cars are purchased at Mechanic Shops, and owners of Mechanic Shops earn a portion of those upgrade fees. Similarly, Gas Station owners earn a portion of the gas fees that are purchased. Racetrack Land owners earn a portion of the fees for the races that take place on that racetrack. All of these assets provide opportunities for passive earning, in addition to making those owners Land Barons which comes with even more perks. Buying Cars & Game Assets - Players can purchase game assets direct from the Riot Racers Marketplace when new items are released.
