Noras Playhouse
www.norasplayhouse.orgNamed for the heroine of Ibsen’s A Doll House, Nora’s Playhouse is a theatre company devoted to providing an environment for women’s stories to be told by women artists. Our women-centered mission results from a recognition that women are still woefully under-represented as directors, playwrights, artistic directors and managers for professional theatre, as well as the primary subject matter for scripts. The three founders of Nora’s Playhouse, Caroline Reddick Lawson, Yasmine Beverly Rana and Emily J. Richard, have worked together in New York City theatre since 2003. Nora’s 2009-2010 inaugural season was the realization of their long-nurtured dream for this theatre company. Nora's Playhouse provides an environment for women's stories to be told through the collaboration of women theatre artists. Nora's Playhouse is interested in telling a wide range of women's stories and has a particular commitment to shedding light on women's human rights issues. Our long-term vision includes educational theatre outreach to teenage girls.
