Founded before the University even had a music department, the society has grown and grown to be one of the largest and most active societies at Bristol University. It aims to give students the opportunity to explore their musical talents whether that be in an auditioned or unauditioned group. Currently the Bristol University Music Society consists of Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Brass Band, String Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Baroque Ensemble and Composition Network.Groups within the society have cemented their status high quality groups by entering and winning competitions such as UniBrass and the South West Universities Concert Band Festival.
