The mission of the Physicians Medical Forum is to encourage the recruitment and retention of African-American physicians, and thereby help to eliminate health disparities, improve access to care, and improve the quality of life and medical care for people in the Oakland/San Francisco Northern California Bay Area. Our primary goal is to help increase the number of African-American physicians, residents & medical students in Northern California/Bay Area and primarily in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano and Sacramento Counties, while helping to eliminate health disparities and improving the quality of life and medical care for patients. While our focus base is Northern California, Physicians Medical Forum’s network is nationwide, and its programs and initiatives impact medical education, pipeline program and healthcare delivery throughout the country.
