CheckedItOut: The Chicago Porsche Convergence is an opportunity for all Porsche enthusiasts to gather in the heart of the city. It's the appreciation and celebration of the Porsche’s unique 70+ year legacy, represented in each owner’s pride and joy. It’s a sharing of great stories, road trips, restorations, and racing – a moment collective that continues to uniquely define Porsche culture. In 2017 three Chicago Porsche guys – John, Adam and Karsten – had an idea to create an urban-minded Porsche gathering to celebrate all Porsche models combined with art and music. Think Chicago summer street fest meets cool Porsche show. In early 2018, Karsten passed away from cancer while our vision was still merely an idea. Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Karsten was a Porsche enthusiast known for his aquamarine blue Porsche 911 SC-RS, aka the Chicago Outlaw. His classic Porsche also earned IG fame @Checkeditout, aptly named for his love of “checking out” cars. The handle was an ongoing joke between Karsten and his wife Claudia, who even had their own way of pronouncing it: “check-ED-it out.” Checkeditout Chicago is our opportunity to check out some cool Porsches in a cool urban setting, just like our friend Karsten always loved to do. Our inaugural event was on 09/15/2018 at The Haymarket Brewery. In 2019, Checked will converge on 9/14 at Aberdeen and Kinzie in the Fulton Market District in the West Loop. We have applied to operate as a 501(c)(3). Each year we have a named annual Chicago charity. Our 2019 Charity is Bernie's Book Bank, which focuses on improving literacy for at-risk Chicago children.
