WPS Community Bank was an award-winning start-up community bank in January 2009 that served the financial needs of Dane County residents and businesses. The Bank was a 5-Star rated institution by BauerFinancial, Inc. for eight consecutive quarters and it was named as one of the safest banks in the United States in 2012. The Independent Community Bankers of America also recognized the Bank as one of the top small business lending institutions in the country. It was a wholly-owned subsidiary of WPS Health Insurance located in Madison, WI until the time of its sale to Starion Financial, a North Dakota based bank in April 2015.
