Drive Against Depression is a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, which allows the provision of tax deducible receipts for donations. Our mission is to achieve increased mental health awareness in Australia, particularly relating to depression and anxiety. Our intent is to remove the stigma around these issues by encouraging open conversations over a shared enthusiasm for motoring. To do this we deliver regular motoring events which offer a non-confrontational, judgement free opportunity for people to connect with new and old friends and feel comfortable to talk about what's going on for them. We know that when people come together with friends and to enjoy their car we have an opportunity to reach people through this common enthusiasm. That's why we arrange regional drives on interesting roads, static displays, social events and once in a lifetime motoring experiences to bring people together and offer bright days when others are often difficult. The service we provide is based on our four pillars which are: - Starting, then continuing the conversation about mental health. - Finding the pathway to seek help. - Fundraising. - Engaging with ongoing support services for continued encouragement.
