Most of the farmers in India are either small or marginal, which means that their land holding is less than one hectare. The main challenge faced by these farmers is shortage of money to carry out farming activities. Due to this challenge, they end up leaving the land fallow and take up other jobs. On the other hand, we have a large group of people on the urban cities who have the intentions to help farmers and support them but do not have the right avenues to achieve this. We thought we could bridge this gap so that people at both ends are benefited. We resorted to start I Support Farming as an organisation that would enable the urban people to reach out to the right farmers who are in need of support. At the same time, for sustained support frm the urban side, there needs to be some benefits for the urban people who are interested in extending their help. So we thought the urban people could take up farming as their allied activity by partnering with the rural farmers. iSupport Farming would enable the urban people to provide capital for the farmers so that the farmers could carry out their farming activities seamlessly with the inputs from the urban group.
