Our goal is to research, preserve, and communicate undiscovered and little known information about the role and influence of Eastern Christianity in the early American and transatlantic world, centering on the life, community, and worldview of Colonel Philip Ludwell III of Green Spring, Virginia (1716-1767), an influential yet little-known British-American statesman who is the first known American convert to Orthodox Christianity.
